The SECRETsweeper had been the first gateway for decryption, encryption and signature verification for the MIMEsweeper-product family.

In combination with MAILsweeper the SECRETsweeper offers gateway-based signing, de- and encryption along with policy based management of threats that may occur when using encryption and authentication technologies.

Comprehensive protection

Together with MAILsweeper, SECRETsweeper implements the company’s encryption policies and scans the content of encrypted emails, i.e. to prevent the following:

Threats within encrypted or signed emails, like virus-infected documents, inappropriate or offensive content and unwanted file types

Unintentional or intentional circulation of confidential information outside the organization by means of encrypted or signed emails

Unauthorized encryption or usage of digital signatures in emails

Tampering or theft of data

SECRETsweeper is a module from the MIMEsweeper product family and offers policy based content security for companies that want to implement encryption and authentication technologies.

SECRETsweeper ensures the following:

Adds and removes encryption for site-to-site connections and single recipients
Adds and verifies digital signatures
Avoids the risk and the negative consequences of uncontrolled usage of encryption and signatures on email data

SECRETsweeper in combination with MAILsweeper for SMTP features:

S/MIME encryption and/or signing of eMails (site-site and site-client)
Verification of digital signatures and rejection of non-authorized signatures
Acception or blocking of (bodytext-) signed only and/or encrypted messages
Adding or removing digital signatures
Detection of expired or untrusted certificates
Decryption and content inspection of encrypted emails
Generation and revocation of self-signed certificates

CompanyCRYPT – Successor with an even more versatile encryption technology

Clearswift SECRETsweeper development has stopped and has received the end of life statement on the 8th of May 2005.

CompanyCRYPT is most suitable to follow up existing SECRETsweeper installations and to migrate to a state of the art encryption solution on the MIMEsweeper.

Besides S/MIME CompanyCRYPT also supports the well accredited encryption system OpenPGP. It has also been designed for the use in the newest version of the gateway product MIMEsweeper for SMTP.
