Trustworthy anti-malware technology

With bi-directional malware scanning built in, Clearswift SECURE Web Gateways keep your organisations network free of malware. The anti-malware engine detects and stops both known and new threats. This ability extends to viruses, spyware, keyloggers and botnet call-homes. Access to suspect websites can also be managed by URL filtering and category-level controls.

Web content inspection

Clearswift SECURE Web Gateway inspects traffic in real time, checking content against policies. Inappropriate and policy-contravening content is blocked. Customisable block messages can include override options for users, providing both protection for your organisation and freedom for employees to continue conducting essential business.

Data leakage prevention

As well, the Clearswift SECURE Web Gateway performs detection of common business terms, such as payment card industry (PCI) phrases and number patterns, personally identifiable information (PII) and compliance terms. Detection is fully customisable and is supported by automatically updated managed lists and editable compliance dictionaries, including the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Securities and Equities Commission (SEC) and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX). This multi-tiered detection capability prevents data leaks and mitigates regulatory and reputational risks.

Flexible policy development and management

The Clearswift SECURE Web Gateway includes template policies so that it is ready to perform immediately. The easy-to-use policy centre affords user-level control over access to web content and services, allowing for development of flexible acceptable-use policies. Centralised controls automatically propagate policies across multiple Clearswift SECURE gateways, saving time and ensuring consistency.

Time based access

Time schedules can be applied to specific websites or categories, allowing users managed access to particular content types. Individual users can be allocated time quotas for maximum policy flexibility. Acceptable-use intercept pages can be displayed to remind users that web activities are monitored and subject to policy.
